L’utilisation, exceptionnelle, de produits nettoyant dans la cave à cigare peut l’imprégner d’odeurs gênantes.
Afin de faire disparaître ces odeurs il est recommandé d’aérer la cave à cigares pendant quelques jours.
Si cela n’est pas efficace une autre méthode consiste à masquer ces odeurs de produits nettoyants en plaçant, pendant quelques jours, un verre de whisky ou de brandy dans la cave fermée. Attention cependant car l’odeur de ces alcools sera longtemps présente dans la cave ainsi « parfumée ».
Certains amateurs apprécient particulièrement ces saveurs de brandy ou de whisky et versent ainsi, dès l’acquisition d’une nouvelle cave, deux ou trois gouttes de ces liqueurs.
